Fauji

Fauji (1988) was a TV series following the training of an Indian Army commando regiment that aired on India’s national channel DD National in 1988. It was produced and directed by Colonel R.K. Kapur (Retired). The series starred Shahrukh Khan, later a popular Bollywood actor, in his debut role as the main lead, which transformed him into an overnight celebrity. The character played by Khan (Abhimanyu Rai) gained instant popularity due to the charm, peppiness and the exuberance with which he essayed the role. The success paved way for Khan’s next series, Circus, and his foray into acting.
