Melissa was born in Goa and raised in Mumbai. She studied in St Louis Convent High School, Mumbai and completed her graduation from Walia College (Cosmopolitan), Mumbai. She has a sister Melanie Pais  who is also working in television serials. Mugdha has been in the industry of TV and films from the age of 5 years and she has worked with big actors like Dharmendra, Sachin in her first film “Aazmayish”.
